Prehysterical Machine et Octopus dans le cadre du festival FILE 2004 à Sao Paulo

Cette année, Molior a conclu pour la première fois une entente avec FILE 2004 – le festival du langage électronique international, et exposera dans le cadre du festival les œuvres des artistes canadiens Bill Vorn et Philomène Longpré.

Au cours des cinq dernières années, l’initiative brésilienne FILE (festival du langage électronique international) a contribué à positionner le Brésil sur la scène internationale des nouveaux médias par une collection d’œuvres d’art électroniques et numériques. Le festival a également permis de mesurer la pluralité de ces œuvres.

Environ 350 artistes de plus de 30 pays différents participent à la 5e édition de FILE, exposant des œuvres solos et collectives dans les domaines du cyberart, de l’animation interactive, de l’hypertexte, des films Web interactifs, des films interactifs, des panoramas, du langage VRML, des jeux, des logiciels, de l’art génératif, de la robotique, de la musique, du spectacle et des installations. En plus de l’exposition artistique, des conférences, des ateliers et des spectacles seront tenus au Teatro Popular SESI et sur la mezzanine du Centro Cultural.
FILE 2004 – le festival du langage électronique international – aura lieu à la galerie d’art SESI du 23 novembre au 12 décembre 2004.

Prehysterical Machine, de l’artiste Bill Vorn, est conçu selon des principes de déconstruction, par l'expression de comportements disfonctionnels, absurdes et déviants à travers des machines fonctionnelles.
Ce projet a été produit avec l’aide de l’institut Hexagram à Montréal.

Octopus, de l’artiste Philomène Longpré, est une installation vidéo interactive qui projète une vidéo sur une structure en mouvement, où des images et des sons laissent éclater toute la force de leur poésie.

Prehysterical Machine Octopus

Prehysterical Machine and Octopus at the FILE 2004 Festival in Sao Paulo

This year, for the first time, Molior has established a collaboration with FILE 2004 – the international electronic language festival, and will be exhibiting the work of Canadian multimedia artists Bill Vorn and Philomène Longpré.

For the past five years, FILE (international electronic language festival), a Brazilian initiative, has been helping to put Brazil on the world new media scene through a collection of electronic and digital arts productions. It has also acted as a gauge of the plurality of such productions.

About 350 artists from over 30 different countries are participating in the 5th edition of FILE, with solo and collective works in the fields of net art, Web art, interactive animation, hypertext, interactive Web film, interactive movie, panoramas, VRML, games, software art, generative art, artificial intelligence, robotics, music, performance and installations. In addition to the art exhibition, FILE will be holding lectures, workshops and performances at Teatro Popular SESI and on the mezzanine of its Centro Cultural.
FILE 2004 – the international electronic language festival – will be held at the SESI art gallery from November 23 to December 12, 2004.

Based on the principle of deconstruction, Prehysterical Machine, by artist Bill Vorn, suggests dysfunctional, absurd and deviant behaviors through a functional machine.
This project has been produced with the help of the Hexagram Institute in Montréal.

Octopus, by artist Philomène Longpré, is an interactive video installation that projects a video onto a moving structure, where images and sounds explode with all of their poetic strength.
