Philomène Longpré is hot off a two-month residency at the Hong Kong Art School. On the program: four shows, five conferences, a colloquium on the North American robotic art scene, workshops by the artist on art and technology, and the creation of a new interactive video system in conjunction with Hong Kong Art School graduates and students.

Groupe Molior is back to Peru with Transitions/Transiciones, a new exhibition gathering five Canadian artists in Lima, from April 11th to May 11th, 2007.

Montreal, March 27, 2007 – Next April 10, artist Philomène Longpré will begin a residency at the Hong Kong Art School with her work Octopus. A step made possible through a collaboration initiated in China by Groupe Molior in May of 2005.

TIAFGroupe Molior’s General Manager, Andrée Duchaine, will be participating in Interactive 05 a panel discussion in association with the Toronto International Art Fair (TIAF).

The panel discussion will be moderated by celebrated artist Vera Frenkel on the issues surrounding exhibiting and presenting interactive art. Along-with Ms Duchaine others participating will be Sara Diamond, artist and President of the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD); Thom Sokoloski, Director of INTERACTIVE 05 (I-05) and Alain Thibault, Director of the Elektra Festival.

Interactive 05 the panel discussion, takes place Saturday November 5th 2005 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in room 717 at 10.30am.

COMING SOON: Groupe Molior presents the premier of Rotoscopic Machines at the Montréal Science Centre.

Presented in the Montréal Science Centre’s X-treme Rotation Exposition, Rotoscopic Machines is an original work conceived by robotic artist Bill Vorn. Five robots suspended from the ceiling respond and mimic the movements of spectators viewing below. Their humanization creates a "theatre of artificial life".

Totem sonique is an audio installation that consists of an invented acoustic instrument using lath resonators to put in vibration a steel plate, a wooden resonating chamber and a glass tank filled with water. Light emanates from the tank, enhancing the vibrations. [...]
